CARES Act of 2020
The CARES Act of 2020 recently announced by the federal government provides an opportunity for you to donate money to your favorite tax exempt/charity and get a tax deduction regardless of whether you itemized or not.
If you DO NOT itemize you can donate up to $300 to a qualifying tax-exempt (501c3) organization in 2020 and get a deduction. Donating to Blood Science Foundation will qualify so please make a donation today.
Monetary gifts at this time will help ensure a safe and ample blood supply is available so our hospital customers can continue to provide the necessary care to all patients.
Blood Science Foundation offers a number of donation alternatives. To donate money, financial donations can be directed to a specific location (Chicagoland or Pittsburgh) or to our Pittsburgh-based Research Institute. Our Founding Funders program accepts monetary donations of $50K or more. To learn more about becoming a Founding Funder, please click here.
There may be a variety of reasons why a person may choose to make a financial contribution in lieu of a blood donation. Perhaps:
- You don’t have enough time in your busy schedule
- You have a fear of needles
- You have health restrictions, such as low blood iron, age, and weight
Thank you for your financial contribution.
Blood Science Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and is a public charity under Section 509(a)(3). Donors can deduct contributions they make under Internal Revenue Code Section 170. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
