The 10 finalists for this year’s first NextUp Awards, “celebrating the area’s youngest volunteers,” have accomplished an amazing amount through fundraising, philanthropy, volunteerism, and activism, truly “setting an example for the entire region.” The judges for the awards — announced earlier this month by the Blood Science Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Vitalant — somehow picked three winners.
